What does RefineIQ do?

It's an anti-slop rewriter. It takes your dictation or rough notes and cleans up the grammar and cuts the filler, but leaves your voice alone. Select text in any field and click Refine, press Alt+Shift+R, or dictate with Alt+Shift+V.

Will it make me sound like an AI?

No, that's the whole point. Every other tool neutralizes your tone to sound 'professional' (which now just means robotic). RefineIQ's 'Sound Human' mode refuses to use words like 'delve' or 'leverage', and never adds fake typos. It just sharpens your own words.

Does RefineIQ send my text to a server?

Yes, to support our advanced rewrite modes, text is securely processed via our cloud backend. However, data routing is strict: your text is never stored, never logged, and never used to train any models. It exists only for the millisecond it takes to rewrite.

Is my voice recorded?

Voice Draft is push-to-talk and transcribed on-device by a small model running entirely in your browser. Audio is never stored and never sent to our servers. Only the transcribed text is sent to the cloud for refining.

Do I need an account?

Yes, you need to sign in to your RefineIQ account to use the cloud backend, which uses a simple credit system for each rewrite.

How does pricing work?

RefineIQ is free to install and you get 100 free credits on sign-up — no card needed. Each rewrite (CEO Mode or Clean up) costs 1 credit. When you need more, buy a credit pack: 500 for $5, 1,000 for $9, or 3,000 for $19. Credits never expire — buy once, use forever. Voice Draft is always free since it runs entirely on your device.

Which sites does it work on?

Any page with a normal text field, textarea, or editable box. It's built for Slack, Reddit, GitHub, customer support portals, and any web form. You can turn it off for specific sites under Settings → Sites.

Can I use it to refine AI prompts too?

Yes. While RefineIQ is built to make you sound human to other humans, it also works great as a prompt refiner. Just type a messy prompt and hit Refine to give it better structure before sending it to ChatGPT or Claude.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome and Chromium browsers on desktop: Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc. Chrome 113 or newer is required.
