Rewrite your writing anywhere, without the copy-paste round trip.
Most rewriters make you paste your draft into a separate web app, fix it, and paste it back. RefineIQ lives in the text box instead. Select your draft in Gmail, Slack, Reddit, LinkedIn, or any field, press Alt+Shift+R, and the rewrite replaces it on the spot.
Free to install, and your text is never stored or trained on.
One pill, every text box
- No copy-paste. The rewrite happens where you wrote it. Esc restores the original, so it's safe to try.
- Tuned for the AI chats (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, AI Studio, Perplexity) and dependable in everyday fields like email and chat.
- Scratchpad fallback. For editors that fight extensions, the popup gives you a reliable rewrite.
- Keyboard-first. Alt+Shift+R to rewrite, Alt+Shift+V for Voice Draft.
Pick the pass that fits
CEO Mode cuts the AI slop and makes a draft read like a person wrote it. Clean up is a lighter grammar and filler pass. Prompt mode tightens a rough prompt before you send it to a model. See the before / after examples for how each one reads.
Private wherever you type
It doesn't matter which site you're on, the rule is the same. Your text goes over HTTPS to a secure backend, gets rewritten, and is dropped. Never stored, never logged, never trained on. Read how your data is handled.
FAQ
Which sites does it work on?
Any page with a text field. There's tuned support for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, AI Studio, and Perplexity, and people use it most in Gmail, Slack, Reddit, LinkedIn, and application forms. If a page editor fights the extension, the popup scratchpad gives you a reliable rewrite.
Do I have to copy and paste?
No. That's the point. Select your draft in the box you're already in, press Alt+Shift+R or click the Refine pill, and the rewrite replaces your selection. Press Esc to restore the original.
What are the shortcuts?
Alt+Shift+R rewrites the selected text. Alt+Shift+V starts Voice Draft, where you dictate a rough idea and it's transcribed on-device before you rewrite it.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Chromium browsers on desktop, including Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, and Arc. You need Chrome 113 or newer.
Where does my text go?
Over HTTPS to a secure backend, where it's rewritten and dropped. Never stored, never logged, never trained on. Voice Draft transcription stays on your device, since audio is never uploaded.
