PromptPerfect is shutting down. Your next optimizer is free.

PromptPerfect winds down on September 1, 2026. If you used it to clean messy prompts, RefineIQ does that job in-place — privately, on your device, with no account and no RefineIQ server.

How to switch in under two minutes

  1. Add RefineIQ to Chrome — no account.
  2. Open the popup and start the one-time model download (~380 MB, or a lighter ~130 MB tier).
  3. On ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini: select your rough prompt → Refine → Replace. Esc restores the original.

What you keep — and what you gain

  • The optimizer job. Rough prompt in, clearer prompt out — not a template library.
  • Privacy by architecture. Default path never hits a RefineIQ backend because there isn't one. Read the on-device page and privacy policy.
  • In-place UX. No copy-paste round trip through a separate web app.
  • Voice Draft. Speak a rough idea; transcription stays local too.

FAQ

Is RefineIQ a drop-in PromptPerfect replacement?

It solves the same job — turn a rough prompt into a clearer one — but differently: in-place inside the chat you already use, on your device by default, with no RefineIQ account or server.

Do I need to pay?

No. Core on-device refining is free. There are no ads. An optional tip jar is the only monetization today.

Will my prompts leave my machine?

In the default on-device mode, no — inference runs in your browser after a one-time consented model download. Optional BYOK sends prompts directly to your chosen provider, never through a RefineIQ backend.

What about PromptPerfect’s multi-model optimize UI?

RefineIQ optimizes the prompt you wrote, where you wrote it. For a larger model you can bring your own OpenRouter or Hugging Face key — still without a RefineIQ middleman.
